66 Division GOC Relinquishes to Take over New Office at DSCSC

Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, the 10th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66 Division relinquished his duties during a formal military ceremony, held at the 66 Division Headquarters in Pooneryn on Friday (17).

The outgoing General Officer Commanding was invited to review the Guard Turnout, presented at the entrance to the Headquarters, 66 Division on arrival. A few minutes later, a Guard of Honour, presented by 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops honoured him saluting at the parade ground.

Afterwards, he planted a sapling in the compound and posed for a group photograph as a symbol of memory. Subsequently, the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 66 Division addressed the troops at the 66 Division and shared memories of his over 08 months of service and expressed deep gratitude to the troops who supported him throughout his service as the General Officer Commanding of the 66 Division. He also urged them to continue their commitment in the same spirit whilst safeguarding the reputation of the organization.

All Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and Other Ranks were there to extend best wishes to the outgoing Senior Officer and finally, the General Officer Commanding attended an all-rank tea after a while.

Major General Lasantha Rodrigo has now taken over as the Commandant, Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Sapugaskanda.
