Brigadier Shewanth Kulathunge of the Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) assumed duties as the 25th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East, amid religious blessings at the 23 Division Headquarters in Punani on Friday (6).

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 23 Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by 6 Gajaba Regiment troops as he entered the premises.

In his new office, the new GOC was invited to sign an official document to mark the assumption of his duties amidst 'Seth Pirith' chanting.

Later on, In line with military formalities, the new GOC addressed all Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the Division in future.

Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 23 Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
