10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops under the 651 and 652 Brigades of the 65 Division jointly supported the conduct of ‘Thai Pongal’ festival by contributing to the cleaning projects of Hindu temples and the MoH office premises on 13 January.

Accordingly, those troops completely cleared garbage inside Mulankavil Vishnu Kovil, Shivan Hindu Kovil and Palinagar Kutti Pulleyar Kovil compounds, prior to the festival as a reconciliation and goodwill move. On the same day, troops cleaned up the MoH office premises where vaccination programmes are on.

Respective Commanding Officers and the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division closely supervised those community projects.
