Major General Priyantha Weerasinghe assumed office as the new Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North Central (FMA-NC) on Friday (21) during a simple ceremony, held at the office of the FMA Headquarters at Anuradhapura.

Military formalities included a Guard Turnout, presented in his honour as he entered the FMA Headquarters premises, prior to the arrangements at the new office. As members of the Maha Sangha, led by Ven Eethalawetunawawe Gnanathilaka Thero conducted religious blessings, Major General M.E.P Weerasinghe left his signature for a formal document to symbolize the acceptance of the new office.

Afterwards, the new FMA Commander addressed the FMA troops and set out his plans in future.
