3.8 kg of Kerala Cannabis Recovered from Keeri Village

Intelligence troops of the 54 Division, together with patrolling troops apprehended a stock of 3.8 kg of Kerala cannabis, kept hidden inside bushes at Keeri village, Mannar on Thursday (20).

The stock is valued at Rs 1 m and was afterwards handed over to the Mannar Police station for further investigations and arrest of suspects in this regard.

Meanwhile, Army troops of the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the 121 Brigade of the 12 Division recently raided a Cannabis cultivation of about 2000 plants, grown in the general area of Weheragala after a Special Drone Camera Operation sotted the cultivation.

Those plants were pulled out and handed over to the Kataragama Police Station for further investigations. No suspects have been arrested and the Police investigations are on.
