The foundation stone-laying ceremony of the proposed house to be constructed by the Army for one more low-income family in Nikapitiya, Bakamuna area in Polonnaruwa district took place on Monday (10) with the participation of the Chief Coordinator for Civil-Affairs SFHQ-East, Colonel Ushan Gunawardhana, Commanding Officer of 7 SLA, Lieutenant Colonel C. Harischandra, Officers and Other Ranks.

With funds, made available by Mr Nihal Udugama Suriyage, resident in Australia to the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri, the project is to be coordinated by the General Officer Commanding 23 Division Major General Nalin Koswatta and the Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel Wasantha Hewage.

The proposed house for Mr P.D Wasantha is to be constructed with the technical and manpower support of 7 Sri Lanka Artillery troops with sponsorship provided by the donor in Australia.
