SLAVF HQ to Have its Own Communication Centre

Laying the cornerstone and cutting the first sod for construction of a Signal Communication Center amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) compound at Seethawaka took place on Monday (27) to serve as a communication service center.

The Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Channa Weerasuriya laid the cornerstone for erection of this long-felt need in the premises and SLAVF troops will carry out its construction.

This will be established adjacent to the communication tower in the camp premises enhancing all aspects of communications and information systems support while simultaneously functioning as a dispatch room for mail delivery plus the facility for storage of essential signal equipment of the camp premises with safety and care.

A few Senior Officers and Officers were present at the occasion with strict adherence to health directives, issued for COVID - 19 pandemic.
