Newly-Appointed East Commander Undertakes Field Visits

The Commander Security Forces- East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri upon his recent assumption of office made his maiden familiarization visits to the 231 Brigade and under command battalions during 26 -27 December.
Upon his arrival at the 231 Brigade, the new Commander, Security Forces - East was welcomed by the Commander,231 Brigade Brigadier Dilupa Bandara after he was greeted to a drive pass. Afterwards, he addressed Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and troops under the 23 Division. Then, a comprehensive briefing on role and tasks in their area of responsibility was delivered by the respective Brigade and under command battalion Commanders.
He left a complimentary remark on the visitors' book before the departure.
On the same day, visiting Commander took time off to visit to the 11 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. On arrival at Headquarters 11 (V) SLSR premises, he was received by the Commanding Officer of 11 (V) SLSR. Following day, (27) visiting Commander, made an inspection visit to the 4th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch, Unnachchiya. There, he paid a floral tribute to the fallen War Heroes of the battalion, who made the supreme sacrifice for our motherland.
As a symbol of memory, the Commander Security Force (East) planted saplings in both battalions Headquarters premises.
Major General Nalin Koswatte, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Division, Brigade Commander 231 Brigade, Commanding Officers of 4GW and 11(V) SLSR, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks joined during the field visit.
