Memorabilia of SFHQ-KLN, Now on Display

Memorabilia of the previous Security Force HQ - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) before it was converted to be the 1 Corps Headquarters, designed as the Reserve Strike Force for all types of emergencies were conserved and placed in a new museum at the 1 Corps HQ at Kilinochchi.
The new museum that gives special value to the remnants of the previous HQ was opened by Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, 1 Corps on Wednesday (1) during a simple ceremony as the Chief Guest opened the new museum where a collection of memorabilia of the SFHQ-KLN which played a prominent role during the height of LTTE terrorism have now been on display in the 1 Corps HQ.
The unveiling of a plaque marked the simple inaugural ceremony, attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 1 Corps. The museum also has a complete set of photos and many other mementos.
9 Field Sri Lanka Engineers and 11 Corps of Engineer Services Regiment troops completed the state-of-the-art construction with the support and guidance of Officers and Other Ranks of the 1 Corps. The event got underway adhering to existing health protocols.
