Quarantine Curfew Extended Till 6 September- Head, NOCPCO

The quarantine curfew that was imposed at 10.00 pm on 20 August 2021 which is supposed to expire on 30th August 2021 has been extended till 4.00 am on 6 September 2021 following a directive given by HE the President during one more session of the Presidential Task Force, held this morning (27).

A statement issued by General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army further said that essential services, like pharmacies, agriculture, apparel & exports sector, etc will continue to function, including the continuing combined vaccination project of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and the health sector for civilians.

The nation-wide quarantine curfew has been imposed in order to curb further transmission of the deadly epidemic.
