Major General Hirosha Wanigasekara of the Sri Lanka Service Corps (SLASC) took over duties as the new Master General Ordnance (MGO) of the MGO Branch at the Army Headquarters, Sri Jayewardenepura this morning (10) during a brief ceremony at his office.

He succeeded Major General Chandana Marasingha who has now retired from the Army a few days ago.

The new MGO signed a formal document and marked the assumption of his duties after following Buddhist observances in a simple ceremony. A few Senior Officers and Other Ranks were present at the location, adhering to health guidelines.

Major General Hirosha wanigasekara, prior to this new appointment served as the Director General of Army Supply and Transport.
