Troops of the 23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) under command to the 592 Brigade of the 59 Division under the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu recently assisted two needy families with supply of their health needs after their miserable plights were brought to the notice of the troops.

Mrs Pradeepan Sinduraja suffering from a physical inability was offered a wheelchair and a child suffering from a serious syndrome and is confined to the bed was donated an air mattress that would help him to be free from bed sores.

Lieutenant Colonel P.P.S Weerasuriya, Commanding Officer, 23 SLLI with Officers and Other Ranks got together and footed the cost of both those medical accessories on humanitarian grounds. A representative set of Officers and Other Ranks went to their doorsteps and gave away those aids as part of their community projects.

Major General GD Suriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division and Colonel Chaminda Arachchige, Commander, 592 Brigade Commander gave necessary instructions to carry out the task.
