New DG at Civil Security Department Pays Courtesies on Army Chief

The newly-appointed Director General (DG) of the Civil Security Department (CSD) Major General Ranjan Lamahewa (Retd) this morning (15) paid a courtesy call on General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.

He took over as the new DG at the CSD a few days after he retired from the Army having completed a service of more than three decades. At the time he retired from the Army, he was serving the office of Commander, Security Forces - Central.

General Shavendra Silva during the brief interaction with the new DG extended his best wishes on the new appointment and expressed optimism about the continuing roles of the CSD which has been providing supportive roles for the greater benefit of the people in the country.

The new DG also thanked the Army Chief for the best wishes and expressed his gratitude for the brief meeting. He also awarded a special memento the Army Chief on the same occasion. The gesture was reciprocated.
