Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces-West visited several Quarantine Centers on Thursday (1) in order to inquire into day today needs.

During the visit, he inspected Quarantine Centers under the 661 Brigade in Meegasthenna and the one under the 613 Brigade in Matara area and inquired into the progress of ongoing construction of new Quarantine Centers in the 61 Division area.

Similarly, he inspected the construction progress of the Kamburupitiya hospital's new maternity ward and the QC at Nilwala Teachers' Training school at Matara. He also discussed project details with several officers and respective Brigade Commanders.

During the visit, respective Brigade commanders made comprehensive briefings about their respective places and the contribution of troops to prevent the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the areas. The Commander SF-West appreciated the commitment of troops for these places at this crucial juncture and directed respective officers to render their invaluable services in future, too.

Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku - Commander 613 Brigade, Colonel Deepthi Ariyaena - Commander 661 Brigade, Commanding Officers and other senior officers were present at respective venues.
