2436 New Cases Reported During Last 24 Hours - NOCPCO

As of this morning (17), a total of 2,436 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 1 foreigner and 16 Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 561 from Gampaha District, 516 from Colombo District, 156 from Kalutara District and 1186 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (17), a total of 230,691 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 133, 061 were reported after the New Year.

By Thursday (17) morning (past 24 hours), 1,667 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours but 59 deaths have been reported including 31 males and 28 females on 15 June 2021.

By Thursday (17) morning, 529 persons have left 23 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (17), 8,052 persons in 72 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (17) at the time this communiqué was released, 258 isolated GN Division areas and 8 Police divisions were released from isolation and 93 isolated GN areas remain unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
