2,334 New Cases Reported in Last 24 Hours - NOCPCO

As of this morning (16), a total of 2,334 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 1 foreigner and 58 Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 546 from Colombo District, 268 from Kalutara District, 250 from Gampaha District and 1211 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (16), a total of 228,255 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 130,642 were reported after the New Year.

By Wednesday (16) morning (past 24 hours), 2,014 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours but 55 deaths have been reported including 33 males and 22 females on 14 June 2021.

By Wednesday (16) morning, 493 persons have left 27 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (16), 7,943 persons in 70 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (16) at the time this communiqué was released, 258 isolated GN Division areas and 8 Police divisions were released from isolation and 93 isolated GN areas remain unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
