A stock of dry rations and essentials to the value of about Rs 7500/= was taken to a needy family with children, resident in Kallapadu North GN Division after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General P.D Suriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division by Sisters in Mullaittivu Sacred Heart Convent.

Chairman, Mullaittivu Cooperative Society volunteered to food the cost of those essentials. The General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, together with a few senior officers and representatives of the donor took the stock to the family and handed over it on Thursday (11).
