Brigade Troops Trained by SF Experts for OBM Roles

Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division and Brigadier Lal Wijetunge Commander, 141 Brigade on Friday (21) commenced a 5 day- long Out Board Motor (OBM) handling and training course at Udamapitigama Ferry Site at Malwana in order to train Army personnel for any emergency handling.

A 4-man team from 6 Sri Lanka Artillery and an 8-man team from 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry participated in the initial programme. Well trained and highly qualified 4 instructors from the 2 Special Force Diving Team have come forward to contribute their hard-earned expertise to promote those skills among Search and Rescue teams in the Brigade.

The next training team from the same Brigade will follow the second programme at the same location. Lieutenant Colonel K. Y Priyadarshana commanded throughout the 5-day long exercise.
