11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 521 Brigade troops of the 52 Division on the directions of Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander, Security Forces -Jaffna, and under guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 52 Division carried out a sterilization programme in Achchuvely area on Saturday (15) with the objective of curtailing the speedy transmission of the COVID-19 virus among the general public in Jaffna.

521 Brigade Commander and respective Commanding Officers closely supervised the project.

Accordingly, Achchuvely Bus Stand, Market Places, Banking Complexes, Shops, Three-wheeler parks and the general crowded areas were disinfected and thoroughly cleaned under this sterilization project.
