Security Forces Wanni Continue with House Construction for Civilians

The Security Force Headquarters-Wanni giving a boost to its ongoing house construction project for needy civilians laid the foundation stone for another new house on Friday (30). It is to be gifted to Mrs. Deepika Sanjeewani living in Mundimuruppu in Vavuniya.
The Buddhist Association in the People's Bank after learning her desperate plight came forward to sponsor the cost since the Army undertook to provide the project with free technical knowhow and manpower. The beneficiary was living in Mundimuruppu area in Vavuniya without a primary shelter to reside when troops were informed of her plight.
The foundation stone for the construction of the new house was laid by the General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General Nandana Dunuwila gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
Construction of the house was undertaken by troops of 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment with the guidance and supervision of both the Commander 56 Division and the Commander 562 Brigade.
Commander, 562 Brigade Brigadier A. M. S Premawansa, Assistant Regional Manager, People's Bank Vavuniya, Commanding Officer of‘ 17 (V) SLSR, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks, family members of the beneficiary along with several civilians in the village attended the brief occasion that followed all health guidelines.
