A civil - military coordinating meeting at the 65 Division Headquarters in Thunukkai on Thursday (08) had two Divisional Secretaries, together with 34 civil officials representing Health Sector, MOH, Forest Office, Agriculture Office, Irrigation Office, Disaster Management Office, Police and Bank sector and was presided by the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General Tikiri Dissanayake, where a briefing was made in relation to ongoing and previous civil-military projects.

At the outset GOC welcomed all government officials and briefed them on previous activities conducted by troops related to above subject matter and educated the forum. The meeting was followed by an interactive session and lunch at the Officers’ Mess.

During the coordinating meeting, matters pertaining to the field of various Headquarters were discussed. Further, coordinated matters related to disaster threats, precautions, and actions to be taken against illegal activities in the area were also discussed. |
