Troops of the 12 Sri Lanka Field Engineers under command to the 612 Brigade of the 61 Division of the Security Force HQ - West brought a sudden bushfire under control at Walallawita-Kapuwatta forest reserve on Thursday (4).

Troops on being informed of the bushfire rushed to the location and extinguished the fast spreading wildfire after much effort.

Major General Wasantha Abrew, Commander, Security Forces - West, 61 General Officer Commanding and 612 Brigade Commander were closely supervising the troop engagement in contact with the Commanding Officer of the 12 Field Sri Lanka Engineers and troops. |
