In order to further strengthen good relations between civilians and Security Forces in the area, troops of the 17(Volunteer) Gajaba Regiment of the 642 Brigade under the 64 Division HQ with the support of a civil philanthropist jointly donated essential nutrition packs to 25 pregnant mothers, resident in the general area of Oddusudan on Friday (26) to coincide with the Navam Full Moon Poya day.

These packs of nutrients, each worth about Rs 3000/= consist of cereals, milk powder, tinned fish, spices, grains and other essentials and the cost was shared by All Ranks in the 17(V) Gajaba Regiment, Officers and Other ranks of the 642 Brigade and a civil philanthropist.

Coordinated by the Civil Affairs Officer of the 64 Division, the project got underway at Mullaitivu.

Major General Manjula Karunarathna, General Officer Commanding 64 Division graced the distribution as the Chief Guest. Brigadier Prasanna Wijesuriya, 642 Brigade Commander, Colonel Trol Silva, 643 Brigade Commander and a few Senior Officers, state officials and beneficiaries were present at the location. |
