A sudden fire occurred in the general forest area of Mahakanda in Sarasavigama was brought under control by 11 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Central on Thursday (13).

On the directions of the Commander, Security Forces -Central and under the supervision of Major General Sarada Samarakoon General officer Commanding of the 11 Division, troops of the 2 (volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment took prompt action to douse the fast spreading fire. |
