A formal ceremony marked the assumption of office of the newly-appointed Commander, 541 Brigade Colonel Lakshan Samaradiwakara on Wednesday (20) as the 7th Brigade Commander.

As the first segment of the ceremony, the incoming Brigade Commander reviewed the Guard Turnout presented on arrival at the Headquarters premises and he was welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 12 (V) SLA.

Afterwards, Colonel Lakshan Samaradiwakara took over the duties amid religious observances. Subsequently, he planted a Kumbuk sapling in the compound and spoke to the troops. An all rank tea organized at the Other Ranks’ Mess at the 541 Brigade brought the arrangement to culmination.

Commanding Officers and under command troops attended the ceremonial event and they extended best wishes to the new Brigade Commander. |
