Troops under the Directorate of Army Sports on Monday (21) initiated a project to grow grasses in the newly-erected rugby ground at Panagoda.

A brief religious ceremony blessed to kick off the project. With the blessings of the Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Directorate of Sports had the chance of constructing a new Rugby ground of international standards in the premises, which was recently opened.

Director Sri Lanka Army Sports, Brigadier Mohan Rathnanayake and Staff Officers together with all troops of the sports village contributed their manpower to the planting of grass inside the new Rugby ground. |
