On the sidelines of the Sri Lanka Military Academy's chain of scheduled events at Diyatalawa, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff Commander of the Army, together with his spouse, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) took time off to catch a glimpse of the ongoing construction of the new ASVU Welfare Shop at Diyatalawa SLMA complex this morning (18).

The Security Force HQ–Central coordinated this fully equipped welfare shop project, closely supervised by Major General Kumara Jayapathirana, Commander, Security Forces-Central once expanded and opened is set to provide essentials to All Ranks serving the Army cantonment in this garrison town at subsidized price.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva and Mrs Sujeewa Nelson spoke to Army troops at work there and shared a few thoughts on the project after a close review of the ongoing additions and construction. Senior Officers at ASVU at the Army HQ were also associated with the occasion. |
