More Expatriates Arrive in Sri Lanka-NOCPCO

As of this morning (27), a total of 559 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, are 553 from local contacts, 5 Sri Lankan expatriates and one seafarer from Greece. The majority of those infected ones were from Colombo areas (253), Gampaha areas (65) and Kalutara areas (35), states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (27), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 18,487. Of them, 3,059 were from the Minuwangoda cluster and all other 15,428 were from the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster. Meanwhile, 12,014 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda and fish market clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (26), a total of 22,027 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 15,815 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,113 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
In the past 24 hours (within 24 hrs), 369 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres.
To-date, 99 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 3 deaths were from Peliyagoda, Bambalapitiya and Colombo 8 areas.
As of this morning (27), the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 50 passengers and the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 52 passengers, the flight UL 607 from Australia with 191 passengers, and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 12 passengers have arrived in Colombo. Likewise, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 75 passengers is expected to reach Colombo. All those passengers were/ were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of this morning (27), 5,114 persons in 47 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (26), 12,105 PCR tests were carried out. |
