1st Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops organized a cleaning programme and a blood donation campaign in parallel with the Battalion's 32nd anniversary and celebration of 71st Army Day under the theme "Be a helping hand to the people of the country’’.

The cleaning programme was held on Sunday (4) at Boyagane Maha Vidyalaya, Kurunegala and the Blood Donation Campaign took place on Monday (5) at the camp premises with the support of all ranks’ and the civil staffers of the battalion.

In addition, officers and other ranks from the VIR Regimental centre and HQ BN VIR provided much assistance to make the event a success. A total of 111 donors gave their blood during the campaign. The staff from the Teaching Hospital- Kurunegala and the blood bank Kurunegala also assisted the battalion to make this event a success. |
