Members of the Security Forces-Central, following instructions given to Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army by HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, offered their skilled manpower and technical expertise to start construction of one more new building to Haldummulla Vidyalaya in the general area of Haldummulla in Badulla on Friday (25) under the ‘Janapathi Gama Samaga Pilisandara' project.

Major General Keerthi Costa, Commander, Security Forces, Central enabled those technically-skilled engineering troops to lay the cornerstone for its proposed building in a simple ceremony. Principal, teachers and students assembled there to see the inauguration of their much-awaited utility building.

Similarly, Major General Keerthi Costa during his stay in the area also inspected the ongoing construction of the new home for those affected by elephant attacks and the new playground under construction in Haldummulla area. The chairman, Haldummulla Town Council, Army officers and government officials in charge of the projects also joined the inspection tour and evaluated the progress of ongoing projects. |
