Around 10.45 am on Sunday (9), 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under command to the 112 Brigade and the 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) rushed to Maussakele area and cleared a mound of earth that has blocked the Maussakele (B 149) road in the general area of Mohini Ella, Maussakele, Nuwara Eliya.

Troops on the instructions of Lieutenant Colonel K.N Gunawardena, Commanding Officer, 19 SLNG on the directions of 112 Brigade Commander and the Commander, SF-Central completely cleared soil heaps and boulders within a few hours and made the road motorable again.

Fulfilling one more corporate social responsibility, the troops formally informed the authorities in the Road Development Authority, local Police and other relevant authorities of the blockade. |
