Two recent bushfires that erupted in the Anavilundawa Bird Sanctuary and Sellakandawatta area in Puttalam were brought under control by 16 Gajaba Regiment troops of the 143 Brigade under the 14 Division.

A total of 3 Officers and 38 Other Ranks contributed to the fight against those fires that took place on Tuesday (7) between 10.30 am and 15.30 pm.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Brigadier S. Kasthurimudali, Commander, 143 Brigade on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Division. |
