Major General Dammika Jayasinghe, the newly-appointed Commander Security Forces- Wanni upon assumption of office paid homage to the sacred places of worship in Anuradhapura on Sunday (24) and called on the Atamasthanadhipathi (Chief Incumbent of of eight sacred places) and members of the MahaSangha at Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanweliseya, Mirisawetiya, Abayagiriya, Thuparamaya, Lankaramaya and Isurumuniya.

During those courtesy visits, buddhist monks invoked blessings on his new appointment and wished him all strength to carry on with his new duties.

General Officer Commanding 21 Division, Commander 212 Brigade, Commanding Officer 7 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Senior Officers also participated in the programme. |
