Brigadier Channa Weerasuriya assumed office as the 25th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 22 Division of the Security Forces East on Wednesday (22).

On his arrival at the premises, 22 Division troops accorded a drive-past Guard Turnout to the new GOC at the main entrance before he signed a formal document and formally accepted his new appointment amid religious observances.

Afterwards, he planted a sapling at the Division HQ premises as a symbol of memory.
