Australian Defence Attaché, Happy over Role of Armed Forces against COVID-19

Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Australia in Sri Lanka, Group Captain Sean Unwin paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Friday (17) at the Army Headquarters.
During the cordial discussion that followed, the visiting envoy expressed his happiness over the manner how the Sri Lankan armed forces are managing well against further transmission of the COVID-19 in coordination with health authorities and other stakeholders. He also underlined the need for global support to combat this pandemic which has already claimed a heavy toll of deaths and contraction. |
