683 Brigade Troops Provide Subsidized Dry Ration Packs to Needy People

Considering difficulties and hardships, being experienced by innocent people in the general area of Udayarkattu, 7 Gemunu Watch and 9 Sri Lanka National Guard troops on the instructions given by Major General Deepthi Jayathilake, Commander Security Forces - Mullaittivu on launched a 'mobile sale' project of essentials on Wednesday (8).

The programme was initiated under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, Major General R.M.P.J Rathnayaka with active coordination made by the Brigade commander of the 683 Brigade, Colonel D.R.N Hettiarachchi.

Since the prevailing curfew hours have restricted movements of the public, troops distributed those relief packs, inclusive of dry rations, vegetables and spices at subsidized prices as a welfare project in the 683 Brigade area. This door-to-door mobile mechanism launched in coordination with government officials and officials of Grama Seva Divisions came in for praise of the public. |
