Troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in the past couple of days assisted the distribution of relief welfare allowances to nearly 1.5 lakhs of Jaffna district-based deserving people.

They extended their assistance to the District Secretariat and Divisional Secretariat officials in Jaffna to pay state allowances to Samurdhi recipients, kidney victims, disabled and elderly people and other selected beneficiaries, affected due to prolonged curfew hours, imposed in order to arrest the spread of COVID - 19 pandemic.

Each person in consultation with state officials was given Rs 5000.00 under this scheme as the state relief. Troops, together with state officials visited homes of those beneficiaries and assisted them to distribute those state grants. Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna has instructed all Divisions and Brigades to offer their maximum support for the implementation of the project. |
