In the wake of looming threat of COVID-19 and showing readiness to any emergency, a group of 50 troops, including Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters - West on the guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces - West, Major General Jayantha Senevirathne on Thursday (8) at the Sri Bodhirajaramya in Panagoda organized a project to donate their blood to the Narahenpita Central Blood Bank.

This was aimed at providing necessary blood categories, platelets and fresh plasma for any urgent requirement in the event of any emergency. It will also serve as an alternative contingency plan in the face of swelling COVID-19 pandemic. |
