Army Buddhist Association Distributes Ration Packs among Buddhist Temples

Sri Lanka Army Buddhist Association on the direction of the Commander of the Army took steps to donate a consignment of dry and fresh rations for the use of Buddhist monks in several temples, affected due to imposition of curfew and subsequent hardships being experienced owing to prevailing COVID-19 outbreak.
Major General Jayantha Senevirathne, Chairman Army Buddhist Association and Commander, Security Forces-West launched the distribution project among 16 Buddhist temples in the area. The main inauguration was held on Monday (6) at the Rukmalgama, Dharma Wijayaloka temple where he symbolically handed over the 1st stock of rations to the Chief Incumbent of the temple who is also the Maha Nayake of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Sangha Sabha, Most Ven Iththaepaane Sri Dhammalankara Nayake Thero.
These stocks will be distributed among 15 other Buddhist temples. |
