Brigadier L.K.P.C Wijethunga of Gajaba Regiment assumed office as the Commander, 141 Brigade at its HQ in Veyangoda on Wednesday (4).

The newly-appointed Brigade Commander left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office amidst 'Pirith' chanting of the Maha Sangha.

Afterwards, he planted a mango sapling in the Headquarters premises to mark the occasion and spoke to the troops. On his arrival at the premises, he was greeted to a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions.

Commanding officers, Sector Commanders, Staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Brigade were present at the occasion. |
