Major General R.M.P.J Rathnayaka assumed office as 9th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 68 Division on Monday (6) at his office in Kombavil, Mullaittivu.

A Guard Turnout plus a parade saluted the new GOC before he signed an official document to symbolize the acceptance of the new appointment.

Afterwards, Major General Rathnayake planted a sandalwood sapling in the premises and joined refreshments. A few minutes later, he addressed the troops and explained his vision.

Brigade Commanders of under command Brigades, staff officers of the Division, Commanding Officers were present at the venue. |
