Brigadier W.L.P.W Perera assumed office as the 16th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 59 Division in Mullaittivu on Thursday (19).

The newly-appointed GOC was greeted to a Guard Turnout on arrival at the camp premises and a subsequent parade. After placing his signature for an official document, he addressed the troops in conformity with military traditions.

Staff Officers in the Division HQ, Brigade Commanders of 591, 592 & 593 Brigades, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were present during the occasion. |
