The newly-built Other Ranks’ Mess building at the 591 Brigade Headquarters premises in Nanthikadal, Mullaittivu was vested in the Other Ranks during a simple ceremony on Wednesday (23), headed by Brigadier K.H.P.P Fernando, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.

The fully-equipped mess building, a long-felt need for Other Ranks in the 591 Brigade was the result of collective efforts of successive Brigade Commanders who served there earlier. Troops also laboured much to make the project a success.

The day’s Chief Guest cut a ribbon and warmed the new building at the invitation of Colonel W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe, 591 Brigade Commander and joined with Other Ranks for refreshments. |
