Colonel Wasantha Liyanawaduge of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) assumed duties as the 16th Commander of the 232 Brigade in Tharavikulam, Thoppigala a few days ago.

The newly-appointed Brigade Commander was welcomed to the Headquarters after presenting a Guard Turn Out and military honours.

He signed an official document amid religious observances and symbolized the assumption of office.

Similarly, he addressed the troops and planted a sapling in the premises to mark the occasion. An all rank tea arrangement culminated the day’s event. He succeeded Colonel Roshan Jayamanna. |
