To coincide with the National Drug Prevention Week, a group of 21 Army personnel, of the 14 (Volunteer) Gemunu Watch, 20 Policemen, 30 state officials and 20 civilians recently listened to a lecture on ‘Use of drugs and illegal transport of them’, organized at the 14 Gemunu Watch (GW) auditorium in the 58 Division Headquarters in Galle.

The event got underway following instructions given by Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) to Major General Jayantha Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division.

Prisons Superintendent at Galle, Mr Jagath Chandana Weerasinghe, together with a few rehabilitated drug addicts who are now free contributed to the lecture sessions during the arrangement. |
