Major General Prabhath Dematanpitiya assumed duties as the 7th Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Sapugaskanda on Tuesday (20) during a simple ceremony, giving pride of place to religious performances.

Signifying the acceptance of the new office, he placed his signature for a formal document as a few senior officers looked on. A few minutes later, he planted an‘Iron wood’sapling in the premises as a symbol of assumption of duties at the DSCSC. A brief presentation educated him on DSCSC roles and tasks as the premier seat of learning for tri service and Police Officers.

Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya is a proud product of Nalanda College and served as the General Officer Commanding, 56 Division before he was appointed as the Commandant, DSCSC. He is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Wushu Committee. |
