At the invitation of the incumbent at Welikanda Buddhist Centre, Major General Aruna Jayasekera, Commander, Security Forces - East as the Chief Guest laid the cornerstone for construction of a new Pagoda (Stupa) in the Security Force Headquarters - East Temple premises on Thursday (30).

Amid ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting of the Maha Sangha, headed by Ven Delwita Mettalankara Thero, Chief Incumbent, Welikanda Buddhist Centre, the ceremony for foundation-laying got underway in the presence of a large gathering, including Brigadier Michael Wanniarachchi, Brigadier Admin & Quartering, SFHQ-E and Officers and Other Ranks. |
