A sudden wildfire that broke out in the general area of Diyathalawa Railway Station was brought under control on Friday (31).

The fire broke out due to prevailing spell of dry weather patterns that have enveloped the area with gushing winds from time to time.

Troops managed to douse the wildfire within a couple of hours. 21 troops including Officers serving the SF-C reacted immediately on the instructions of the Commander SF-C Major General Laksiri Waduge and brought the fire under control. |
