Colonel Pradeep Kulathunga of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) assumed duties as the 6th Commander of the 541 Brigade amid religious observances on Monday (29) during a simple ceremony at the 541 Brigade Headquarters in Kalliyady, Mannar.

He succeeded Brigadier Keerthi Bandara who has been now appointed the Deputy Military Liason Officer Ministry of Defence.

A formal Guard Turnout at the entrance, presented by 10 (Volunteer) Gemunu Watch troops greeted him.

Afterwards, the newly-appointed Brigade Commander planted a sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory before he joined an all rank tea.
