The Army Training School (ATS) at Maduruoya marked its 34th Anniversary on Monday (14) with several programmes.

A Guard Turnout and a parade at first greeted its Commandant, Major General H.J Seneviratne on arrival at the premises. Afterwards, he addressed the troops and attended an alms-giving Pinkama at Kandegama temple and conducted a Shramadana at Dimbulagala Kandegama Maha Vidyalaya.

The anniversary commemoration came to an end with an All Rank lunch the same afternoon. The ATS has been commanded to-date by 32 Commandants since its founding in 1985. |
